NetSuite Certification : SuiteFoundation and Beyond – The Definitive Guide

Are you ready to take your NetSuite knowledge to the next level?

Are you looking for a stamp of approval that validates your expertise and sets you apart from the crowd?

In today’s fast-paced business landscape, having a solid understanding of your ERP is more important than ever. NetSuite certification ensures end user administrators have the skills to support their business and gives consultants verification and credibility for their knowledge.

What is NetSuite Certification?

Well, it’s a professional recognition that showcases your proficiency in the NetSuite platform. It’s like a shiny badge of honor that tells employers, clients, and colleagues that you know your way around NetSuite like a champ. Whether you’re an aspiring consultant, an end user administrator, or a SuiteScript developer, getting certified can genuinely make a difference in your career.

There are a few different paths you can take to gain certification. The right path for you will likely be dictated by your career or line of work.

NetSuite professionals who plan on gaining a specialist certification will need to start with SuiteFoundation. Their options are as follows.

The paths from SuiteFoundation to full NetSuite Certification.

SuiteFoundation Certification

The NetSuite SuiteFoundation certification is designed to validate your understanding of essential NetSuite capabilities. To gain this certification you should be able to effectively utilize the platform for activities such as managing a variety of record types or understanding business process flows or the nuances of different transactions.

This certification is a great fit for NetSuite power users, administrators who are responsible for maintaining a NetSuite environment, individuals who have recently completed a NetSuite implementation, or anyone who is planning on continuing with a specialized certification.

By obtaining the SuiteFoundation certification, you demonstrate your expertise in the core functionalities of NetSuite and you can then move on to one of the three specialisms if you wish.

Is NetSuite Certification Worth It?

Obtaining a NetSuite certification can open doors to more opportunities and help you stand out in the job market. Whether you like it or not, employers value certified professionals because it demonstrates that you have the skills and knowledge to make a real impact in their organization. You may well have those skills already but having a certification against your name proves that point to employers, clients and managers.

Not only does NetSuite certification enhance your job prospects, but it also boosts your credibility in the industry. This is particularly true for employees of NetSuite Partners. The more consultants and developers they employ with certification the more they can claim to specialize in as a business.

If you are a seasoned NetSuite professional you may think that gaining certification is unlikely to benefit you more than your experience. Well, I had already been working with NetSuite for many years when I finally went for my SuiteFoundation exam and I would still highly recommend it. You will learn very basic skills that you may have overlooked through your organic learning. You will correct bad habits and discover new ways of navigating and mastering the system.

The verdict: Yes, I believe obtaining a certification from NetSuite is worth it!
